BAIK LIFE 101: bikes and rider levels explained

Choosing the right dirtbike might be difficult if you have no experience with dirtbikes yet. Therefore, we made a clear list of matches between rider levels and dirtbikes. 

Beginner 1

This means:

• You have no prior off-road experience
• You have no on-road experience with manual motorcycles (clutch & gears)
  
• You only have experience with automatic motorcycles 

Suitable dirtbikes:

• Surron Light Bee
• Surron Ultra Bee
• Honda CRF 150 / KLX 150 

Suitable rides:

• 1-hour learning session
• 2-hour learning session
• 1-hour beach ride
• 2-hour beach & forest ride
• 2-hour volcano ride

Beginner 2

This means:

• You have no prior off-road experience
• You have on-road experience with manual motorcycles (clutch & gears) 
• Those who ride up to 1000cc on-road motorcycles are also classified as beginner 2

Suitable dirtbikes:

• Surron Light Bee 
• Surron Ultra Bee
• Honda CRF 150 / KLX 150 

Suitable rides:

• 1-hour learning session
• 2-hour learning session
• 2-hour learning session (250-350cc)
• 1-hour beach ride
• 2-hour beach & forest ride
• 2-hour volcano ride
  

Note: if you're classified as beginner 2, but prefer to ride a special engine dirtbike, you can join our learning session on a Yamaha YZ or KTM. 

Intermediate

This means

• You have prior off-road experience on electric dirtbikes or dirtbikes with less than 250cc

Suitable dirtbikes:

• Surron Light Bee
• Surron Ultra Bee
• Honda CRF 150 / KLX 150 
  

Suitable rides:

• 2-hour learning session (250-350cc)
• 1-hour beach ride
• 2-hour beach & forest ride
• 2-hour volcano ride
  

Note: if you're classified as beginner 2, but prefer to ride a special engine dirtbike, you can join our learning session on a Yamaha YZ or KTM. 

Advanced

This means:

• You have prior experience in enduro or motorcross conditions with dirtbikes with at least 250cc or more

Suitable dirtbikes:

• Surron Ultra Bee
• Honda CRF 150 / KLX 150 
• Yamaha YZ 250 FX
• KTM EXC 300 / 350

Suitable rides:

• Half & full day jungle & beach ride
• Half & full day forest & volcano ride

Note: if you're an advanced rider you can pick any bike that you want. However, the Yamaha YZ 250 and KTM 300 and 350 will probably be the best pick for you.
